About St. John Vianney Parish

Our Parish
A Dynamic, Vibrant Faith Community in Barrie, Ontario

St. John Vianney Parish was built in 1989 to serve the south end of Barrie and the Town of Innisfil. It is home to approximately 3000 families, one high school and six elementary schools.

Our Patron Saint
Saint Jean Marie Vianney

Saint Jean Marie Vianney was a French pastor in the community of Ars in the 18th century. He is known for his strong belief in the healing power of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and his deep devotion to the Eucharist. He is the patron saint of priests.

Our Diocese
The Archdiocese of Toronto

St. John Vianney Church is a Roman Catholic Church, within the Archdiocese of Toronto. We are members of the universal Catholic church, headed by Pope Francis in Rome. Our priests come from the order known as the "Carmelites of Mary Immaculate" (CMI).
