The current pandemic situation is unprecedented and is challenging all areas of our lives to adapt to the so-called “new normal”. It is extremely important for the Church to also adapt and find new ways to continue to celebrate Sacraments during this time. Therefore, we are pleased to offer our families an online preparation program for the Sacrament of Confirmation which will allow us to move forward preparing your son or daughter to receive the Sacrament in the Spring of 2021, in a safe environment.
The online program consists of 4 sessions that include online videos and homework activities for parents to complete with their child. Each session will take approximately 60 minutes and can be done all at once or over a few days at your discretion. These are not “live” sessions. You can access these videos on our parish website (www.stjohnvianney.ca) under the "Sacraments" tab > Confirmation. In addition, you will need to attend the Sacrament of Reconciliation with your son or daughter prior to him/her receiving their Sacrament of Confirmation.
It is our hope that regulations will allowing us to offer sacraments at 30% capacity by the time Confirmation is to occur. As is required in most indoor spaces, everyone attending must wear a mask.
• Each Mass will be limited to a maximum of 25 Confirmation Candidates.
• Families are asked to limit invited family members/guests to a maximum of 10 people including the recipient, the sponsor and his/her immediate family.
• Confirmation Masses will be celebrated on weekday evenings at 7:00 pm as follows:
